It's Christmas Eve! How exciting. The presents are all wrapped and under the tree. The last Advent calender door has been opened (although I think Cadburys should have included door 25!) My Father and his Wife, my Grandmother and my American Uncle are all coming over this afternoon to do the pressie swap. Unfortunately, the Ol' Man has to work today.
Today I pulled 'Temperance', 'The Star' and the 'King of Pentacles' from the intricate Paulina Tarot.
'Temperance' tells me I am going to to do some real harmonising today, especially with two excited children. The baby doesn't really know what's going on yet, thank goodness. And with my family coming over later and just me running the show, its going to be very hectic. I just hope that the appearance of the festive looking 'Temperance' is telling me that everything will run smoothly today. However this card presents a testing time. My ability to turn negativity into positivity will be essential today. And you know what? I know I can do it! I call it refereeing.
'The Star' is such a wonderful card to have today because it symbolises the Star that guided the three kings to the baby Jesus and the Spirit of Christmas. In the often stressful time we go through to buy gifts and to prepare for Christmas we can easily forget the spirit and joy of Christmas time. 'The Star' shows reminds us to have hope, to share and to be kind to one another, and to love one another and to find peace and serenity within ourselves. 'The Star' is akin to 'Temperance' as they balance, blend and share their natural gifts just as we will, as we share presents and kindness with loved ones. Just writing this blog piece has reminded me to relax and enjoy now, to switch off from 'organiser mode'. That the work is done and now is the time to sit down and have fun with the kids!
The 'King of Pentacles' is my Dad, he is the epitome of the 'King of Pentacles', he is reliable and sometimes a little dull and miserable. He is practicable and enterprising and today, like the three Kings of East, he brings gifts. Its been traditional for my Dad to come and see me on Christmas Eve ever since my parents spilt up when I was little. The 'King of Pentacles' isn't always that cosy, he may be unforthcoming and business like. But, although I am worried about it all going smoothly when everyone arrives, 'The Star' tells me I'll be OK.
